Todd Burns has been working in film
since 1993. After starting his career as a grip on local San Diego
productions, he began a career as an AVID editor for the Executive
PC Institute. From there, he moved on to event and film production
for the Miles Ahead organization. After moving to Los Angeles in
1997, he worked for the Shepherd Group, WorldWide Pictures, and Dean
River Productions on numerous feature films as well as assisting
John Shepherd at the internet startups DEN.net
and Pop.com, an Imagine/Dreamworks/Vulcan venture.
Todd has formed numerous real estate
partnerships, companies, and consulting partnerships. Todd is
a partner in the Athletic Perception Institute, a company that produces
the Eye Cue Reading Readiness System, the Eye Cue Putter and the
Trigger Athletic Vision System.
Todd is a producer of the film "The
Jerk Theory" to be produced by Polarstar Pictures. He also consults
MMA fighter and WWE wrestler Daniel Puder in legal and business affairs.
Todd also started a novelty gift business
starting with the Comfort-Him Comfort-Her Blanket, a new product
line targeted at couples that should launch in the next few months,
which is based in India. He is also partnered with his sister and
mother in their #1 rated (San Diego) interior design consultancy
in San Diego (Beach Bungalow Designs).
Todd has recently worked for the international
media law firm, Goodman Derrick, in London on sales and leasebacks
and film financing for numerous films.
He also worked with the US Peace Corps. in Romania and with Crystal
Sky Pictures in strategy, finance, legal, and creative development
on Marvel properties.
Todd currently is founder and COO of
Mpower PIctures, his company with Steve Mceveety, producer of The
Passion of the Christ and Braveheart, and John Shepherd.
Todd has a BA in Economics and English
from UCLA. He holds a Juris Doctorate and MBA from Pepperdine
University. Todd is licensed by the bar to practice law in the State
of California.
